Ever Thought Of..........?

Spare a thought for poor 24-year-old Tamzin McGrath as we head towards Christmas.

In a BBC online article about the perils of "buy now, pay later", young Tamzin said using "tick", as we used to call it, was the only way she'd be able to get through the festive period. Was it paying higher energy bills which scared her? Was it putting food on the table? Perhaps meeting her rocketing mortgage repayments?

As tears welled up in my eyes and the red stuff began seeping from my aged heart, I read on to discover the real peril she faced. "I've already got money I need to pay back after using it during the Black Friday sales," she said.

"So I think I will need to use them again for Christmas to get presents."

Cutting down at Christmas is bad enough but the thought of almost missing out on Black Friday sends shivers down my spine!

What a damning indictment of Capitalism. I mean, there are bastards out there who sell hammers which people can use to hit themselves over the head. There are unscrupulous store owners offering Superglue for sale which hapless customers can use to stick themselves to Inter City trains. Worse than these, there are retailers who stock things we can't afford to buy! The realities are too terrifying to comprehend.

How is a girl supposed to avoid serious head injuries, being frozen to death and smashed into railway tunnels or, most perplexing, get things they haven't got the money to buy?

I haven't a clue but it's about time the authorities stepped in to save our young people from.......from.......from........NOT USING THEIR FUCKING BRAINS!

P.S. I would suggest Tamzin's priority for her next pay-later-cash should be to get her "carpets and curtains" to match! Perhaps she could also get her granny a lifetime's supply of Werthers Originals for Christmas by getting the money back she spent on having her lips pumped up (allegedly)?
